Pledge

We the youth of the nation need to take a stand. Enough is enough. Everyday 16 youths between the ages of 14-24 die due to youth on youth violence.

A few students from St.Ignatius High School in Cleveland are standing up and speaking out - and looking for help. We have personally been affected by - and inspired by - the story of our close friend Justin Winemiller who was brutally beaten.

We politely yet strongly urge you to sign our pledge to raise awareness about youth on youth violence. The signed pledge will be given to local government and state legislature in order to educate others on prevention and to establish an anti-youth violence task force.

We politely ask that you circulate this plege amongst your students to say that they will take a stand against violence in their peer group.

By signing, you agree to help, stand up, speak out, and raise awareness of youth on youth violence in your school and community.

I think Peer Violence is the most horrible thing i’ve experienced and recognized. I pray that God forgives those who have committed it and i pray that he helps the suffering victims of it, I think what St. Ignacious is doing is an amazing act of kindness and support for those experiencing this crime. I know that what you are doing is very brave and I fully support you, Keep it up and I stand along with you to try and stop Peer Violence.

  5. If you need any help please let me know!
    This is a great cause!

It’s about time that we all come together and stand up against violence in our schools, and community. I remember being bused to the east side of cleveland for junior high at Alexander Hamilton middle school. I was jumped on May day by black youths, and it wasn’t because of the content of my character, but based upon the color of my skin. I wish there was a group then to stand against the violence, and latent conflict that exhist within this city.

  9. As a parent of a St. Ignatius student I am so proud of all of you for DOING SOMETHING!

    Thank you,

    Munch Bishop

Keep going no matter what the “nay sayers” may tell you. The quote from Margaret Mead says it all….”Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world….it is the only thing that ever has”
